Project Fun |

11/8/08, 10:01 PM Nate, lead singer from The Format (the band that brought you the climax to to the soundtrack of Moving McAllister - Swans) has been working away at his new project called 'Fun'. Here's the letter he sent out to his fans:
![]() Hi. My hope is that you are reading this because you are interested. My hope is that you are reading this because you have been waiting. The last time I wrote was when i had the unfortunate task of informing you that The Format had broken up. I must admit, it’s still kind of a touchy subject for me. I wasn’t ready to give up music. I had a handful of songs that I was convinced were the best songs I’d written and I don’t think that I would have been able to live with myself if I had just left them to evaporate somewhere in the back of my mind. I remember being on tour with Andrew Dost and just being blown away at his ability to play almost every instrument with ease and bonding over our love for Weezer b-sides and soon realised Andrew and I were going to make a record... (blah blah blah)... And I am so thankful for all of the support I’ve received from you guys over the last seven years and over the last seven months. So I really want this new band to be a celebration of the things we love and what it takes to accomplish and keep them. I can’t wait to keep doing this with Jack and Andrew and I am so fortunate to hopefully be a part of you, the listeners, lives. I’m not going anywhere. Why should you? Ladies and gentlemen... fun. www.myspace.com/fun P.S. WE RECOMMEND THAT YOU LISTEN LOUD. | [ 0 trackbacks ] | permalink | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ( 3 / 552 )

Kitsch |

10/8/08, 06:59 PM I went to a family reunion this weekend to see the long lost second cousins twice removed, and had the pleasure of staying in the kitschest B&B in the country. As someone has already suggested - only a teasmaid would make this more complete!

3/8/08, 01:11 PM Hanna went through her father's old slides from back in the 70's and found some shots of his mountaneering days in Scotland, and holidays in Finland. These two pictures stood out the most for me - especially seeing as back then you wouldn't know what you had managed to capture until after the film was developed.

Glasvegas |

7/7/08, 09:33 PM
Glasvegas are, not surprisingly, from Glasgow. Lead singer James Allan, and his brother Rab, have spent long periods on the dole in tough east-side Glasgow, providing a different backdrop than most other newcoming bands. The first single from the yet-to-be-released album is an anthemic homage to Geraldine, a social worker friend of the band who guides the lost souls of Glasgow through their depression. It caught me ear, maybe yours too...

Rampant Cock Nappers strike East Wittering |
||
10/6/08, 02:09 PM
It appears that cock's aren't safe in the peaceful coastal village of East Wittering. Farmers are up in arms over the recent spate of cock thievery, blaming everything from the weather to Paris Hilton's decision to make music. "Cock nappers are rampant", said Giles Fart-Bottom of Piggery Farm - "I just can't leave my cock alone at night anymore. I blame that god-awful noise that Hilton woman makes". Police are investigating any possible link between Ms Hilton's music and the disappearing cock's, but so far police have failed to find anyone who actually bought her single. "I like corn" said one long-term resident of the village, helpfully. Local shop owners have 'missing' posters plastered in their windows from farmers who pine for their missing cocks. "My cock Pedro was snatched 4 weeks ago now, while I was having tapas with friends - someone obviously snuck in and took him - who would do such a thing?" said farmer Bramley Fivecousins. "He's got one odd eye - his pupil on the left is all wonky, maybe if you see him you could tell him I love him?" The Government announced yesterday that rampant cock snatching was nothing to do with them, unless of course it's a good thing, in which case it was all their idea. | [ 0 trackbacks ] | permalink | ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ( 3 / 733 )
